October 2004: Detailing Day in New York- Cars of the Month

On Sunday, September 26, 2004, we had a Detailing Day seminar and hands-on workshop at our shop in Mineola, New York. The event was planned with the Acura NSX Club of America Northeast region and snowballed into several clubs joining us that day including the G35 Squad, Ferrarichat.com members, Acura-TL.com members and a few Porsche and BMW M3 owners. So we thought instead of sharing one car with you for the month, we would share with you Cars of the Month from the Detailing Day.

The day started with the cars rolling into the area and everyone having some bagels and coffee in the shop. The shop talk then started with Detailing Dynamics proprietor Matt Zakarian, who is a contributing editor to multiple car clubs including the Acura NSX Club of America, Porsche Club of America, BMW Club of America, Mercedes Benz Club of America, Golden Gate Lotus Club and Lamborghini Club of America. He is also the technical advisor for the NY chapter of the Porsche Club of America as well as being a nationally certified concours judge for the Porsche Parade. Matt is also the developer of our DyNA Paint Reconditioning System.

The shop-talk included detailing 101 and a demonstration of the DyNA Paint Reconditioning System and also the use of the DyNA Ultimate Cleaner on Bob O.'s black NSX (which has seen 30+ track events) using the Cyclo orbital polisher. Some before, during and after shots are shown of the passenger side hood and fender.

After the shop-talk and Q&A, some members then went off on their earlier planned fun drive while most of the members of the NSX club stayed behind. Miled from the NSX club took the initiative to gathered support from the other NSX club members attending to transform Bob's black NSX from track rat back to a concour quality car. Matt helped with instructions from washing, prepping and the DyNA 3 Step Paint Reconditioning System. You can see the hands-on application by the NSX club members with the before, during and after pictures of the black NSX.
