Concours Preparation and Vintage Restoration

The arena for a Concours d'Elegance competition can range from the local car club event all the way to the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance™. Before preparing a car for one of these competitions, one has to know the judging rules. The judging can consist of a “hands off” approach common in Europe (a.k.a. impact judging) to an in depth “white glove” judging style where every conceivable crevice of an automobile is checked for a spec of dirt (used in the Porsche Parade). Also, will originality be a judging standard?

Once these questions are answered, a custom designed plan of action is executed to prepare the automobile for competition. The work can take from a couple of days to a month depending on the condition of the car as well as the nature of the event.
